Who I Am 03:58
Verse 1 So I was standing In front of my mirror Trying to understand How I got here The path was not straight Farthest from it Some choices weren't great But I never quit Upon inspection, I was pleased that My reflection Smiled back at me Chorus So even if I could Go back in time To try and fix mistakes I would not change a thing To steal my memories From my lessons learned There's history in my scars That make me WHO I AM I like who I am. Verse 2 I lived off dollar menus And ramen dining But I can tell you I came out just fine Yeah I took some chances Chasing my dreams Had some failed romances But that's life it seems So I don't take for granted Family and love Gifts I've been handed From up above Chorus Bridge Memories fade away They don't always stay What matters most Is that they were made Chorus
2.
Verse 1 It’s not the afterthought that counts I know it’s action that you want I try my best on all accounts But I’m not sure I’m what you want Chorus Should I even go? Home to you When I already know You think we’re through (It seems you do) Where should I go? I don’t even know! Do I have a home Still with you? I know… I want to be with you Verse 2 I want to make my life with you And you once did too when you said “I do” It seems you only see flaws in me My imperfections, it’s all you see Chorus Bridge I just want what we used to be Back when happy was easy But now it seems you're searching for Reasons to walk out that door

Verse 1 I just need to know, if you still want me I just need to know, it’s tormenting me All I want from you is all of you All I need from you is all of you Chorus If I could read your mind, would I like what I find? If I could read your mind, would I find your thoughts kind? If I could read your mind, would I rather be blind? When I look into your eyes, I want to see That you still love me Verse 2 I walk around with doubts, I don’t know why I overanalyze, I guess I’m that guy More than just your words, come on and show me, You’re proud to be with me, go on and show me Chorus Bridge I wish that you could know, what I think about you I wish that you could know, that I’m all about you Chorus
4.
Verse 1 It's getting old just sitting around here I'm looking up, the birds are circling Enjoyed it here, but it's time to move on Need a fresh start, a new direction Pre-Chorus Hands in the air not having a care, Wind in my hair just heading somewhere... Chorus I want to go where the grass is greener I just want to see if the grass is greener I don't even care if the grass is greener maybe i just need a different shade Verse 2 Clock's blinking 12:00 and needs a reset It's the same everyday, time to change it End of the show, credits scrolling Put the car in drive, let's get rolling Pre-Chorus Chorus Bridge Cuz here's the deal, it's you and not me I've kept it real, you've been unruly I've gotta go, time to turn a new page Before I blow, go and grab my 12 gauge Chorus (x2)

Let's Go 03:56
Verse 1 Here we are high above the trees Watching the waves crash Beneath us now look how far we’ve come The sunrise greets us everyday shining Aloha It takes me back, to the time I said Chorus Let’s go Run away (run away) with me now I want to go Run away (run away) with you now Do you also want to? go Run away (run away) with me now And see that we’re meant to be Verse 2 I remember when I walked in and saw you there glowing I knew it then I didn’t need to ask We talked and we laughed Took our first photograph Then I won a game To bring you home and said Chorus Let’s go Runaway (run away) with me now I want to Go Run away (run away) with you now Do you also want to? go Run away (run away) with me now And see that we’re meant to be Bridge I was kinda broken when I first met you Just kind of getting by Yeah barely getting by I needed you like the crops need the rain And like an early spring I was reborn again And I said Chorus (x2) Let’s go Runaway (run away) with me now I want to Go Run away (run away) with you now Do you also want to? Go Run away (run away) with me now And see that we’re meant to be Yeah, meant to be

She can play the sad girl All rain and no bows With a wink and smile Back to happy she goes She can play the game Everybody can see She can drive me crazy Even she would agree She can melt my heart When she smiles at me Cuz she’s my daughter I lucked out you see Chorus She’s 8 now, but going on 18 I’m on borrowed time To still be her hero It won’t be long Til she moves on without me Yeah, without me... Without me! it’s funny she’s got me Doing errands for her she’s my baby girl Yeah, this part, she knows She’s got her pink blanket Wherever she goes If we ever forget it We drive home, she knows She’s my backseat singer Belting out tunes Screaming turn it up Of course I will, and she knows Chorus Bridge She’s bound to break some hearts (x2) What stings the most Is that I know Mine will Be broken the most! Chorus

Hey Now 04:01
Intro Hey now It’s gonna be fine now I’m here now with you now Verse 1 Leaving was hard, but I had to Traveling alone and without you But life called and the tears fall When I left my heart stayed back- with you it stayed back, yeah, with you Chorus Hey now It’s gonna be fine now I’m here now with you now And somehow I know you’ll be fine now Don’t cry now Be strong now I’m home now Verse 2 Don’t be lonely without me Time heals slowly but you’ll see That I am, the warm sun on your face And I am, the sunset you embrace I love you, you know, I love you Chorus x2

about

John is an active duty Army JAG officer who learned how to play guitar in 2019 as a hobby and then recorded his first song during the 2020 lockdown. A former band manager and booking agent in the Twin Cities, his former artist, Scott Morrisson, now mixes and produces his music. This is his debut album and features seven songs with passionate vocals coupled with heartfelt, sincere lyrics that cover a myriad of topics. The title track, Who I Am, is an upbeat acoustic rock song with an introspective look into how our unique position in life is simply a compilation of all of our past decisions and experiences. Heck, this music would never have been written except for a series of strange and unpredictable events spanning over 20 years! Other songs speak to relationships (two acoustic-focused songs, Should I Even Go and If I Could Read Your Mind), a rock-forward anthem about moving on from bad situations (Grass is Greener), a story about meeting his wife (Let's Go), one about the passing of a loved one written from the perspective of the departed (Hey Now), and even an alt-rock song he wrote for his daughter's 8th birthday which will hit home for all dads blessed with raising a daughter (8 Going on 18). This album attempts to capture all those feelings of doubt, anxiety, happiness, sadness, and reflection that all listeners can relate to as we travel our unique life paths.
